Bricklayer.org was created by Dr. Victor Winter, his wife Jennifer Winter, Dr. Betty Love, and Davina Faimon.
Victor Winter, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. His area of expertise is programming languages. He is the creator of Bricklayer.
Betty Love, PhD, is an associate professor in the Mathematics Department at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Her interests lie at the intersection of mathematics and computer science. She has numerous publications in computational operations research as well as math and computer science pedagogy. A mother of four, she is passionate about making math and computer science concepts accessible and engaging for students of all ages.
Jennifer Winter is a passionate homeschool mom, the Executive Director of Bricklayer.org, Finance Chair for an IEEE international conference and she assists with the budget process for NSF and other professional grants. Prior to having children Mrs. Winter was the Accounts Payable Manager for a leading medical research non-profit. She has volunteered in numerous elementary school classrooms (including the first bricklayer.org coding club), been a PTA board member, coordinated numerous events and fundraisers and been a foster for animals in rescue. She is passionate about and dedicated to getting kids exposed to Computer Science and Math at a young age.
Davina Faimon holds Master’s degrees in both Mathematics and Education and has over 15 years of teaching experience in Mathematics and Gifted Education. She has had the privilege of educating students of all ages, ranging from pre-k through post-secondary. Ms. Faimon believes strongly in authentic, differentiated learning opportunities that provide an outlet for students to demonstrate unique genius. She is a data scientist and the educational advisor at bricklayer.org.
